    UL Identity Management & Security (IMS) is looking for a Solution Architect to join us in Atlanta, Georgia and play an important role in our growth. In this role, you will report to the Software Development Manager and apply a variety of modern application development practices and emerging technologies with existing products portfolio to drive our next generation and state-of-the-art platforms. We envision a single, unified platform where each product can be offered in the form of a service subscription.


    You will act as an agent of change for multiple scrum teams whilst also comfortable communicating with senior management and customers to initiate the technical planning and high level product development estimation. You will also work in close collaboration with the architecture team and Director of Technology to develop the technology strategy and roadmap to meet future business requirements.


    You are an all-round generalist with strong Agile Software Development background and can create the architecture and software designs. The position is organization-wide, enabling cross-product line interaction, knowledge sharing and common shared platforms and technologies to define the UL IMS solution with consistent interfaces to enable our Tier 1 global customers to optimize their business.


    • Developing solutions architecture and assisting in the development of technology roadmaps
    • Developing standards, processes and practices that would be provided to the solution and data architecture and software engineering teams
    • Presenting technology strategies, governance and maintaining an active participation of your team in technology discussion forums and peer reviews
    • Assisting in the projects prioritization within the Technology portfolio and the identification of future alignment between projects and new technology
    • Handling architectures and designs implemented by multiple scrum teams around the globe


    • 5+ years of experience in similar role
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
    • Experience leading architecture strategies and visions using pragmatic architecture approaches
    • Ability to lead in a highly collaborative environment with many different teams, roles and responsibilities
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent collaboration skills and team player skills
    • Experience in Java Software Development
    • Good knowledge in Agile practices with CI/CD
    • Extensive Solution and Enterprise Architecture experience
    • Solid Experience with Cloud Solutions (AWS/Azure)
    • Experience with SSL, SQL, No SQL and Database design
    • Understanding of API Security and Access Control (Basic authentication, OAuth, SAML, etc.)
    • Excellent design principles and best practices in implementing APIs, web services, REST APIs, REST architecture based on XML/JSON
    • Solid knowledge in Backend Design (Java, Microservices, API Design, Spring Boot)
    • Ability to develop scalable applications 'for the cloud', including aspects such as SaaS principles, multi-tenancy-, low-latency-, high-performance design
    • Experience working with distributed cross-functional development teams
      • Knowledge in Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
      • Knowledge in Automation Tools (Ansible, Puppet or Chef.io)


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with architecture frameworks & architecture certifications
    • AWS Solution Architect certification
    • Experience working with senior management in multiple sites
    • Experience in transformation from monolith to Microservices
