    We are looking for an individual with research and design skills who is ready to harness his/her creativity to evaluate and produce products that are safe, effective, and satisfying to the intended users.

    In this hybrid research/designer role, responsibilities might include the following:


    Research tasks

    1. Supports usability testing, field research, individual interviews, and group interviews.
    2. Assists with the evaluation of deliverables and ensures that they meet quality standards.
    3. Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate client user interface designs.
    4. Assists with client presentations to review testing results and provide solutions to identified improvement areas.
    5. Coordinates the selection of individual and group interviews in support of client testing.
    6. Supports the preparation of Investigational Review Board submissions.
    7. Prepares laboratory for usability testing.
    8. Performs other duties as directed.

    Design tasks

    1. Assists with the development of use scenarios, navigational structures, sitemaps, user/task flows, and wireframes.
    2. Assists with the development of conceptual design concepts and helps instantiate design concepts in the form of detailed screen designs or learning aids (e.g., user manuals, quick reference cards, training animations).
    3. Supports development of artwork (e.g., buttons, icons, illustrations) for software user interfaces, hardware user interfaces, and learning aids.
    4. Ensures products have a consistent and cohesive user experience.
    5. Supports design reviews and style guideline development for clients’ products.
    6. Assists with client presentations to present design concepts.



    - Classes in Human Factors Engineering, interaction design, visual/graphic design, and/or a related discipline.

    - Experience with user interface design.  

    - Ability to communicate and present effectively.
