Reporting to the Head of Social Strategy and Operations, this position is focused on the support of strategies and processes for UL’s enterprise social media channels. The Social Media Marketing Specialist will, with guidance, develop, manage and execute on social media tasks to support strategic communications for UL. This role requires a mix of editorial and project management skills, along with the communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across functional roles and business divisions globally. Success in this role will require frequent collaboration with colleagues from Analytics, Brand, Business Unit marketing and Corporate Communications.
The ideal candidate is an inquisitive learner who possesses excellent editorial and communication skills. S/he has experience in evaluating and publishing digital content for a diverse range of audiences and is an enthusiastic adopter and user of digital communications technology (including social media channels). S/he is skilled at communicating with colleagues across functions and demonstrates the ability to ask questions, solve problems and – with direction – to bring tasks to completion. This role will be required to review, edit and publish communications copy and graphics to ensure appropriateness for social channels, consistency of UL brand messaging, positioning, and value proposition, while applying best practices for social media audiences and campaigns. Additionally, s/he is committed to ongoing learning, and keeps abreast of best practices and communications industry trends, in order to best support the company’s marketing and business strategy.
