    Responsibilities

    • Oversees the establishment of appropriate testing programs and the coordination of laboratory activities within the designated laboratories.
    • Experience working with AATCC and ASTM testing methodologies
    • Must have experience in a textile manufacturing environment: including dieing, finishing, cutting, etc.
    • Identifies and pursues the development of requirements for test procedures beyond the scope of existing standards and requirements involving unique features and requiring the use of independent judgment.
    • Manages the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
    • Establishes and maintains the test proficiency training program and competencies for laboratory personnel.
    • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
    • Implements policies, procedures, and practices mandated for the laboratories to ensure compliance to ISO 17025 as well as other defined accreditation requirements for the designated laboratories.
    • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job utilizing the Lean Sigma approach.
    • Performs other duties as directed.

    Qualifications

    • University degree in Engineering or related field preferred plus generally 5 years  or more of related textile manufacturing experience. 
    • At least four years of relevant management/leadership experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage department objectives, staffing and budgets.
    • Detailed knowledge of product testing methodologies.
    • Detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
