    Responsibilities

    UL Ventures is passionate about partnering with and funding great teams to develop ambitious solutions together. We provide venture capital and a dedicated ventures team who facilitate access to global UL expertise and customers. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced finance professional. In this role, you will develop the global infrastructure for UL Ventures, including finance, back office operations and risk & compliance.  You will conduct financial due diligence on investment targets, help close transactions and track portfolio performance.  This is an important role to build UL Ventures into a successful CVC and create value for the UL enterprise.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    This role will report to the Managing Director of UL Ventures, and develop and oversee finance, back office operations and risk & compliance.  We are seeking a self-starter to develop our next generation processes and procedures, including managing our operations platform to allow the investment and innovation team to work as efficiency as possible.  

     

    Your core responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and manage finance, back office operations and risk & compliance processes, procedures and systems
    • Develop and manage next generation operations platform
    • Conduct financial due diligence on investment targets and follow-on rounds
    • Help investment team close deals
    • Manage the quarterly portfolio review process and maintain up-to-date information on company financials, cap table, book value, fair value and waterfall analysis
    • Coordinate activities with Corporate functions such as Legal, Finance and Corporate Development
    • Support alignment and communication with business teams (as needed)

                                                                                                                                                                    

    Qualifications

    Qualification:

    • Accounting or Finance degree required.  CPA preferred.  CFA a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in accounting, business finance, venture capital/private equity/asset management operations or M&A operations
    • Candidate with both accounting/finance experience and transaction operations experience preferred
    • Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm preferred
    • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
    • Ability to drive projects and initiatives to completion
    • Ability to navigate large and complex organizations
    • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
