    Responsibilities

    We are now seeking to recruit a Senior Operations Manager for our global Consumer & Retail Services division to manage Global Operations for UL’s Responsible Sourcing Service Line, based either in Hong Kong or the USA. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following functions:

     

    • People Management: Functional Management of Global Auditors, and Coordination Teams worldwide who perform Responsible Sourcing / Social Compliance Audits on behalf of UL Clients worldwide with 8 direct reports, ensuring talent development, feedback, mentorship, goals, measurements, and training systems are maintained and continually improved.

     

    • Resource Management: Responsible for managing a Global Budget, which includes maintaining pricing and cost management systems, leveraging business intelligence tools to ensure financial visibility and accountability, and developing capacity plans to meet UL Client Requirements.

     

    • Processes & System Improvement: Support the development and implementation of lean & process improvement initiatives to improve speed, quality, and value for clients while embracing technology advancements. Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality, Integrity, and Qualification systems.

     

    • Sales Collaboration: Support the onboarding of new programs and building capacity.

     

    • Support the Mission: Ensure all Responsible Sourcing staff comply with established corporate policies and requirements. Communicate and exemplify UL’s Mission, and enable employees to openly suggest, promote and embrace change.

     

    Qualifications

    • 10-15 years of experience in a senior leadership operational capacity with a demonstrable track record of resource management, people management, and project management.
    • Experience in the Testing, Inspection and Certification market in an operational role is preferred.
    • University Degree (equivalent to a Bachelor's degree) in Business Administration.  
    • An advanced understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, and the ability to analyze and present information in a concise and relevant manner in an international / cross cultural environment.
    • Abilities to manage employee performance through development of goals, identifying and addressing training needs, and operational capacity planning.
