    Under general supervision, the Sales Executive is responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory. This position sells ULs products, systems, and/or services to customers in an assigned territory, industry, or accounts. Collaboration with Sales, Business Development, and Regional Marketing will be essential.


    Responsibilities include:

    • Identifying, developing and launching market development programs & penetration strategies to drive  Performance Materials growth.
    • Developing key insights from analysis of client and market trends, competitive strategies, and VOC. 
    • Creating compelling value propositions for clients.  Performing market segmentation analysis, understand the buying process and competitive positioning.
    • Working with OEMs to uncover testing needs and create “pull” throughout the value chain.
    • Developing key relationships across the value chain from resin producers to compounders to molders to OEM’s to identify opportunities for UL to add value.
    • Strengthening the UL brand through networking with stakeholders from industry, government, and industry associations.
    • Building an opportunity pipeline and driving opportunities to closure.
    • Developing account management plans.
    • Identifies and pursues prospects through various lead generated activities, including tradeshow, direct mailing, advertising, cold-calling, on key industry players and referral program.
    • Meets with prospects to understand their purchase decision makers, decision making process criteria, and their needs.
    • Supports the development of sales presentations. Supports the sales presentations in support of growing the clientele for ULs services.

    Provides value propositions, handles objections, prepares quotes, and closes sales by getting prospects’ commitments


    • B.S. Degree in Business or Science.   Preference given to Materials Science/Polymer/Plastics backgrounds.   MBA preferred.
    • 5 years minimum Sales/Business Development experience in the plastics/rubber/materials/chemicals industry.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Engaging presentation skills.
    • Independent achiever; self-starter

    • Proactive and self -motivated hunter.  Knows how to prospect effectively.
    • Analysis of Market Trends, assessment of business opportunities, value proposition development.
    • Prefer technical background (chemistry/material science).
    • Able to identify customer unmet needs.
    • Understand what is driving customer ROI.
    • Excellent relationship skills.
    • C-Level selling.
    • Industry knowledge.
