    Under general supervision, assists Label Center Supervisor in providing label services to clients by planning and organizing Label Center activities, training and supervising Label Center staff. Assists clients in acquiring labels by providing information, answering client questions, reviewing label designs, maintaining information systems, and as needed processes label purchase and release orders. In addition, assures that clients custom labels comply with UL specifications and resolves clients billing questions. Reviews work of staff and assists Section Supervisor with preparing performance appraisals.

    • Provides Label Services to clients by assisting the Label Center Supervisor I with planning and organizing Label Center activities. Increases client service level by analyzing Label Center operations and recommending enhancements.
    • Reviews work of Label Center staff as well as provides job training on all work related functions of label policies and procedures.
    • Assists Label Center Supervisor I in managing performance of staff by communicating expectations, monitoring and correcting performance and preparing performance appraisals.
    • Assists Label Center Supervisor I and higher levels of management with employee relations by recommending hires, promotions, dismissals and other disciplinary actions.
    • Maintains stock of standard labels by identifying need through inventory reports and placing orders with appropriate printers.
    • Authorizes client label order cancellations and/or billing corrections by verifying requests and informing Accounting of cancellation.
    • Assures that custom labels comply with UL specifications by reviewing, correcting and authorizing client designs.
    • Prepares and completes in-house printing/permanent issue number requests.
    • Resolves client and supplier problems by investigating issues with concerned parties and relaying information.
    • Completes client orders by processing label purchase and release requests which includes assigning control numbers, reviewing label designs, interacting with internal customers on label formats and material specifications as well as interfacing with clients and UL Field staff on label shipment, storage and control of UL labels.
    • Maintains information systems by entering data regarding label orders, refunds, release orders, etc., into databases as well as filing and updating reference materials.
    • Maintains supplier agreements, distributes information for the client orientation program and prepares Initial Product Inspection packages.
    • Answers client questions regarding shipment status, address verification, label inventory, and UL mark clarification.
    • Performs other duties as directed.


    Some University education plus prior experience of data entry and accessing data from databases and generally six years prior related customer service experience or equivalent.
